Dior is one of the most prestigious designers, there’s no doubt about that. While many think of Dior as a fashion house, I’m a bigger fan of their beauty products.
From their perfume to their mascara, Dior has some of the best makeup products. While they come with a high price tag, you get what you pay for. Therefore, it’s no surprise that they offer some of the best lipsticks and lip glosses.
Which one should you buy? Here’s my best Dior lipstick guide, and I will also mention some extra lip glosses. I will also include how I chose these products and the factors you should consider.
Bottom Line Up Front
The Dior Addict Shine Lipstick is my favorite from the brand. I’ve been a bigger fan of shiny lipsticks lately, and this is one of the best ones I ever used.
This one is my favorite because it’s available in so many others, is super hydrating, almost made entirely of natural ingredients, and is now available in a refillable format. I do like all the products I listed, so I also suggest looking through them and trying as many as you want!
Tips When Looking for Dior Lip Products
When I look for any lip product, I always look at the color options, which will work best with my skin tone, and the finish I want.
Dior offers numerous colors in both their lipsticks and lip glosses. I suggest knowing the different shades you like, that look best on you, and that complement your unique style.
Skin Tone and Undertones
That said, certain colors look best on different skin tones and undertones. If you have light skin, you can pull off any shade, though nudes and brights look best.
Medium-toned skin should rock pink, red, and nude. Nearly every lipstick shade looks great on dark skin colors, though brown, red, bright colors, and plum are the best.
For undertones, olive skin tones look great in all shades, especially red. Cool undertones look best in cherry, plum, crimson, mauve, and purple. Neutral undertones look best in orange and red.
Dior offers different finishes in lipsticks, liquid lipsticks, and lip glosses. These range from matte to glossy. One isn’t better than the other–wear the ones you prefer and think look best on you!
How I Chose These Lip Products
While I love all Dior lip products, I rated some higher than others. I recommend the ones that last a long time, are versatile, offer different benefits, and are generally popular.
Some Dior lipsticks last longer than others. For example, the Rouge Dior Forever line lasts longer than others. Their liquid lipsticks also last longer than their glosses.
Dior has a large lip product catalog, and some are more popular than others. That’s why I recommend their best-sellers and most popular products above their niche ones. If you’re unsure which lipstick or gloss to buy, I suggest starting with fan favorites.
Some Dior lip products and colors are more versatile than others. I recommend the ones that you can wear to nearly any occasion. For example, I’m listing lipsticks and glosses that come in natural colors–especially lip glosses.
While all these products will make your lips pop, some offer more benefits. For example, some of these lip balms will keep lips moisturized while some of their lip glosses will plump your lips.
My Favorite Dior Lipsticks
Are you ready to discover my favorite Dior lip products? From lipsticks to lip glosses, here are my top Dior lip makeup picks!
Dior Addict Shine Lipstick
There are many reasons why Dior Addict is one of the top lipsticks from the brand. First, have you seen the color selection? No matter your preferences, you can find the best lipstick shade for you. Second, this is made of 90% natural ingredients.
I love how Dior offers lipstick refills; instead of buying a new product, you can buy the refill for cheaper to try a different formula. Plus, it’s more sustainable. You can buy a case on the Dior website.
This is a shiny lipstick made with jasmine floral wax and other hydrating ingredients, so I wouldn’t recommend this one if you’re looking for matte lipstick.
I have honestly been a bigger fan of shiny lipsticks lately, so that’s why I’m in love with this one. Plus, it’s comfortable to wear all day and transitions from night to day well.
- Many color options
- Smooth texture
- Hydrating formula
- Comfortable to wear all day
- Day and night lipstick
- Shiny finish
- Not a good option for those who want a matte lipstick
Rouge Dior Lipstick
Rouge Dior is one of the brand’s most recognizable lipsticks. It’s available in a massive color selection and in four different finishes: matte, satin, new velvet, and metallic.
On the website, you can click which finish you want, and it will filter all the different colors available. Plus, some colors are available in more than one finish (though the colors may vary).
The satin one is the original, but I suggest trying all these finishes. No matter which finish you order, Rouge Dior Lipsticks are intensely pigmented, wear really well, and apply evenly.
As with all Dior lipsticks, the Rouge is available to buy as refills. You can buy the case on the Dior website. While the refills are still pricey for lipstick ($45), they’re still cheaper than they were before.
One of the many reasons why I love the Rouge Dior lipstick is it’s so hydrating–even if you get one of the matte ones (but I still suggest getting the velvet finish if your lips dry out easily). The lipsticks are made with pomegranate flower and red peony extracts so they won’t dry out your lips.
There are some downsides to this one. I mentioned the price already. It has a light smell, so I wouldn’t recommend this lipstick to those with sensitive skin.
- Multiple finishes
- Many color options
- Applies evenly
- Wears well
- Buttery soft–made with hydrating ingredients
- Incredible pigmentation
- Has a scent
- Still expensive, even for a refill
Rouge Dior Forever Liquid Transfer-Proof Lipstick
I have to admit, I’m over the liquid lipstick thing, but this is one of my favorites. It comes in several colors, though not as many as the other lipsticks.
This liquid lipstick lasts a long time, so it’s perfect for a night of going out. Plus, it’s lightweight; a big problem I have with liquid lipsticks is they feel heavy on the lips, so I love how this one feels so weightless.
The applicator is also really nice. It’s thick enough to grace on your bottom lip, and the pointed tip is defined enough to line.
The only downside is the colors look different on various skin tones and in different lighting, so it’s hard to predict if the one you got will look good on you. At $45, this liquid lipstick is also pricey. At the same time, I can’t think of a better cheaper alternative.
- Available in different colors
- Nice applicator
- Colors can look different
Rouge Dior Forever
What’s the difference between Rouge Dior Forever and the original Rouge Dior? Let’s look at the word “forever” as an example. This lipstick is long-lasting, and in an ultra-matte formula, so it’s perfect for those who want more matte from classic Rouge Dior lipstick.
And when I say long-lasting, I mean it–one swipe and this lipstick will stay on your lips all day! While it’s not available in as many colors as the classic Rouge Dior Lipstick, you still have plenty of options.
There are some downsides to this. As with all matte lip products, it can ball up and look uneven. At $45, that’s not worth the price. I suggest finding a sample if you can and seeing if that works best for you.
- Available in several colors
- Lasts all day
- Perfect for those who want an ultra-matte lipstick
- Formula balls up and gets uneven
My Favorite Dior Lip Glosses
While Dior’s lipsticks are some of the best on the market, I’m a big fan of their lip glosses. That’s why I want to include some amazing Dior
Dior Addict Lip Maximizer
I have to admit, I’m not a fan of lip plumpers at all. They feel weird on your lips, and they make me look like I’m having an allergic reaction. However, this lip plumper is more comfortable. While it does plump your lips, they don’t look clownish–it’s a subtle and natural-looking plumping effect.
That’s thanks to the mint infusion, which are my favorite type of lip plumper. I understand they may not be as plumping for some people, so keep that in mind before buying this one.
Lip plumpers also tend to dry out my lips, but not this one. It makes your lips so soft, thanks to hyaluronic acid and cherry oil. The glossy finish also accentuates your lips. The gloss is available in various colors.
The bright colors aren’t as pigmented as I would like them to be, but the darker colors are absolutely gorgeous. Unlike other lip glosses, these last a long time, so they’re perfect for daytime to night wear.
- Plumps with mint, looks more natural
- Perfect for daytime and nighttime wear
- Lasts a long time
- Available in many shades
- It may not plump enough for some people
Dior Addict Lip Glow
While this is technically a lip balm, it’s the fanciest lip balm I’ve ever seen. Formulated with cherry oil and other hydrating ingredients, it will keep your lips soft all day. Unlike other similar products, this one doesn’t feel sticky or tacky–that’s a big plus for me because I hate sticky lip balms.
Instead, it applies well and leaves your lips feeling moisturized. I love wearing this one when I go out but don’t feel like wearing lipstick. It’s available in several colors that are actually pretty pigmented and last a long time.
- Super hydrating
- Available in multiple colors
- Doesn’t leave your lips feeling sticky or tacky
- At $40, it’s expensive for a lip balm
- Has a weird taste
Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil
If you want color on your lips without using gloss or lipstick, I suggest trying this unique lip oil. It doesn’t feel oily at all–I think it feels like a light lip gloss. It also has a high-shine effect. The color is very sheer, so I don’t recommend using this one unless you want light pigment.
The applicator is also nice. It’s thick and fluffy, perfect for evenly distributing the oil. There are some aspects I don’t like about this lip oil. The product is $40, and the gloss isn’t big at all. There are cheaper alternatives out there.
- Not an oily formula, more like a gloss
- Shiny finish
- Very nourishing
- Can be worn on its own or with other lip products
- Not pigmented
- Has a weird smell
- Expensive for the small size
Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Serum
There are many reasons why I like this lip gloss just as much as the original Lip Maximizer. First, this one is extremely moisturizing. Like the traditional Lip Maximizer, this one doesn’t plump your lips with harmful ingredients.
Rather, Dior uses hyaluronic acid and mallow extract to give your lips that “wet” look, making them look plumper. I love this–it feels comfortable all day and doesn’t give me that allergy lip look. But I know people expect some serious plumping action after they spend $40.
There are no color options, it’s just a clear gloss. That’s a shame because I love colored lip gloss, but it’s not the biggest deal in the world. It’s still a universally pretty natural pink color and looks great on everyone.
- Volumizes lips with moisturizing ingredients
- Can wear alone or with other lip products
- Not sticky or tacky
- Some customers may want more of a plumping effect
Dior Addict Lip Tint
Lip tints have been my new thing. As I said, I’m getting off liquid lipsticks and prefer wearing something lighter on my lips. And this is a great lip tint to try.
These tints last a long time; you might need an occasional touch-up, but they’re still long-lasting. Because these lip tints are so lightweight, they are perfect to wear during the day and night.
While the color selection isn’t huge, there are several pigmented colors in natural, bright, and deep colors. You get many of the benefits of lipstick with this tint, so I recommend these if you want to try something different.
- Not as many color options
Question: What is the Most Famous Dior Lipstick?
Answer: That would be the classic Rouge Dior Lipstick, specifically in shade 999 Red. This is a classic Hollywood red color. It’s actually inspired by two other shades of red that Dior released, one called 9 and the other called 99.
Question: Does Dior have the best-selling lipstick of all time?
Answer: No, actually. The winner goes to NARS, specifically the shade Jungle Red in their classic lipstick.
Question: Does Beyonce wear Dior lipstick?
Answer: No, I was actually shocked to learn she wears a drugstore staple–L’Oreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Colored Ink. It’s one of the best drugstore Dior dupes I can think of, so it’s no wonder why even celebrities love it!
The Dior Addict Shine Lipstick is my favorite lip product from the prestigious brand. I’ve been loving shiny and glossy lipsticks lately, and this is one of the best options on the market.
There are so many color options, it’s largely made of natural ingredients, super hydrating, and it’s available as a refillable lipstick. I know this lipstick isn’t for everyone, so I recommend looking through all my recommendations and choosing the one that’s best for you.
