Ashley Gray
Professional MUA 13+ years, Beauty Influencer, Makeup By Gray Founder & Lead EditorMy name is Ashley Gray, but you can call me Gray. I have been a professional makeup artist for the last ten years and I have learned so much along my journey!
A little bit about me. I’m a southern girl with a love for the city, born in Virginia and raised in Atlanta. I’m an HBCU college grad, representing the illustrious Hampton University. I studied Public Relations & Marketing but fell madly in love with makeup and beauty while attending school. Since 2010, I have worked in the beauty industry. How’d I get my name? By being one of the only artists in Atlanta who understood and could execute clean beauty looks on ethnic skin across different mediums. My journey has truly made me into the woman I am today. Coming from a bloodline of entrepreneurial women, my passion for business, education, and ownership runs deep.
Makeup has allowed me to enter rooms I never would’ve imagined. I have worked with some of today’s most influential Black women and notable brands such as Amandla Stenberg, Teyana Taylor, Letoya Luckett, Storm Reid, Draya Michele, Angela Rye, Lori Harvey and many more.
Phoebe Berkley
Certified Makeup ArtistPhoebe is our other certified MUA, with years of experience! She’s here to help make the entire world of beauty less intimidating for everyone. She has years of experience and has worked with thousands of clients, so she really knows nearly everything there is to know about makeup!
What beauty advice do you hope to share with the world?
I want everyone to know that makeup and beauty is for everyone, no matter your skill level. It can be intimidating to immerse yourself in makeup if you’ve never explored the many different products available. I hope our team at Glamour N’ Glow can give you some inspiration to dive deeper into the amazing world that is Makeup and Beauty.
What is your holy grail foundation?
My Holy Grail Foundation is the Face & Body Foundation from M.A.C. Cosmetics. It’s super lightweight, buildable, and lasts all day long!
What’s the most disappointing beauty product you’ve ever tried?
I would say that would have to be the Fenty Beauty Liquid Lipstick. I absolutely loved how it looked, but after a couple of hours it had smudged almost completely off and had even traveled under my lipline.
What’s one beauty hack you would recommend to anyone?
Your setting spray is not just for after you’re done your makeup. Spraying a little bit right before applying your foundation will really help it absorb and leave you with a smoother finish. You can never have too much setting spray!
Clare Holden
Featured Beauty Writer, MUAClare is a seasoned writer and beauty expert whose work has been featured in esteemed publications such as Byrdie, InStyle, and SELF. From a young age, Clare harbored a deep passion for beauty and fashion. This passion led her to pursue a degree in Journalism and Communications at Griffith College Dublin, where she simultaneously honed her skills in makeup artistry while working part-time at makeup counters.
Upon graduating, Clare’s love for beauty and skincare inspired her to train professionally as a makeup artist at the LA Academy of Creative Arts. Her expertise has since graced numerous fashion shoots, TV programs, weddings, and events worldwide.
In recent years, Clare has expanded her focus to embrace beauty from within. She has delved into the worlds of Yoga, Aromatherapy, and Ayurveda, enriching her understanding of holistic wellness. Today, Clare skillfully balances her career as a freelance writer and consultant for beauty brands while managing her artisan fashion brand, White Night.
