I love to shop for beauty products, but I don’t like the price tag of so many high-quality products. Let’s take Charlotte Tilbury Beauty as an example. I’ve always wanted to buy a beauty product from Charlotte Tilbury Beauty. I’ve especially heard amazing things about her foundation. Plus, her lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes are beautiful.
And let’s not forget about one of her best-selling products, the Hollywood Contour Wand! Customers rave about the blendability and the perfect contour it provides. But that $40 price tag is enough for anyone to back away. And seriously, the product is only 12 mL big! What a rip-off!
You don’t need to dip into your weekly grocery bill to achieve a flawless contour. There are plenty of alternative products that can give you the perfect contour. Here are the best Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand alternatives.

My Top Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand Alternatives: The List
- Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Hydrating Concealer
- NYX Wonder Stick
- Wet n Wild MegaGlo Makeup Stick – Conceal and Contour
- Makeup Revolution Fast Base Contour Stick
- Flower Beauty Lift & Sculpt Contouring Palette
- L’Oreal Bronze It Bronzer
- KVD Beauty Modcon Liquid-Gel Contour
The main alternative to the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand that I recommend is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Hydrating concealer, which I’ve tried many times. The concealer has a natural finish, and a creamy texture, and is also very blendable, so I see this product working better as a contour wand alternative. The concealer also has a similar sponge applicator, so it’s easy to apply, especially if you want to get rid of some of those dark circles under your eyes!Ā
My Favorite Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand Alternatives
Are you ready to find affordable alternatives to the Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand? Here are a few of my favorites!
How I Chose These Alternatives
For these alternatives, I looked at ways they’re similar to the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand. I also found some products based on the downsides of the Hollywood Contour Wand. For example, many of these alternatives have a wider shade variety than the Hollywood Contour Wand. Plus, they’re all affordable. You can get most of these products from your local drugstore.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Hydrating Concealer
The closest alternative to the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand is this concealer by Maybelline. The two are similar thanks to the sponge applicator. I used this concealer before. While it doesn’t offer the most coverage, it does have a natural look that’s perfect for contouring. The concealer has a creamy formula, so it’s just as easy to blend. Plus, this concealer is only around $10! And with 18 shades available, you’re bound to find the right contour and highlighting shades.
To apply the concealer, twist the bottom until you see the product coming from the top. Apply the contour shade as best fits your preference and face shape. Follow with a highlighter shade.
Erase the look of dark circles, correct the appearance of redness and brighten the look of dull skin with Instant Age Rewind Eraser multi-use concealer.
NYX Wonder Stick
This is a great alternative, if you’re looking for a specific contour product, I suggest this Wonder Stick by NYX. NYX makes high-quality makeup products that cost much less than other makeup brands. I have a love-hate relationship with NYX. Some of its products are amazing while others are less-than-amazing.
I never used their contour products, but I see this Wonder Stick everywhere. The Wonder Stick has a contour and highlight shade on both sides of the product. From what I’m reading, it has a creamy formula and blends easily. The NYX Wonder Stick has a natural finish, though it is buildable if you want a more intense contour. This Wonder Stick comes in six different shades, and all shades are long-lasting.
I like how the contour shade is matte, but all of the highlighters here have glitter. I would use my concealer since I don’t like glitter on my face. The Wonder Stick is $14, and you get a decent amount of product — more than what Charlotte Tilbury can boast. The only downside is some reviewers complained that NYX changed the Wonder Stick formula.
Highlight, contour, and blend like a wonder with a new, better-than-ever Wonder Stick.
Wet n Wild MegaGlo Makeup Stick – Conceal and Contour
Before I go into this review, the contour and concealer sticks are two separate products. I thought both were included in your purchase, so I wanted to point that out first. But they’re $4 each; if you were to buy both, you’re not breaking the bank.
I recommend these contour sticks because they’re blendable, just like the Hollywood Contour Wand. The formula is creamy yet has a powder finish. The only problem is this product may clog your pores. If you’re like me and have acne-prone and/or sensitive skin, I would stick to the Maybelline or NYX products. I never had bad luck with either brand.
Multi-use sticks that conceal, highlight, contour and add a pop of color to the cheeks. Easy to control design with precise application.
Makeup Revolution Fast Base Contour Stick
I’ve been hearing a lot about Makeup Revolution products. They’re very affordable, and I hear great things. I’m honestly going to order some of these products. These contour sticks are easy to apply and have a lightweight texture for a natural finish. They have multiple shades for a variety of skin colors. I like the duo colors here. The highlighter and contour shade are both matte, so I can see myself using this product. A great alternative worth checking out and you can get it at your local drugstore!Ā
The only downside is reviewers were complaining the colors don’t match the description. I suggest finding reviews for the shade you were looking at, ideally finding pictures if you can.
This dual contour and highlight stick lifts, defines and sculpts the face seamlessly with our lightweight, blendable formula.
Flower Beauty Lift & Sculpt Contouring Palette
Flower Beauty is actress Drew Barrymore’s makeup brand. While this contour palette isn’t an exact alternative to the Hollywood Contour Wand, I hear good things about Flower Beauty. This contour palette is especially great. You have three colors: bronzer, highlighter, and blush.
I rarely wear blush so I wouldn’t touch that product. The highlighter is also a little too sparkly for me. There are only two different palette color options — I wish there was more of a selection. But at $14, this contour palette is available at a decent price.
Just keep in mind that reviewers have complained their contour palette arrived broken. Read Flower Beauty’s return policy before ordering from them.
Featuring a contouring blush and highlighting shade, our Lift & Sculpt Contouring Palette is the perfect all-in-1 tool to define your face in a flash. The powders blend easily and layer together seamlessly for a professional sculpted effect.
L’Oreal Bronze It Bronzer
Before I go into this review, I want to discuss contouring with a bronzer. Believe it or not, bronzers and contour products are technically two different things. Bronzers give you a sunkissed glow. But you can still contour with bronzer. I contour with bronzer over other products — I’m very pale, and most contour products are too dark for my skin. I like the way bronzer gives my face color. I also like to contour with concealers and even foundations.
Onto this L’Oreal bronzer. A lot of people are saying this is the best drugstore bronzer. It’s long-lasting, blendable, has a great color payoff, and doesn’t look patchy or cakey. It’s $15, a great affordable alternative if you prefer a bronzer over a contour. The compact is also large, so you get even more for your money.
There are only three shades — I wish there were more. Some reviewers complained this product has a weird smell and it made some customers break out. I wouldn’t use this product if you have acne-prone or sensitive skin. It also has a lot of shimmer — I prefer matte bronzers.
Sunkissed bronzer for face and body. Body bronzer for a lit-from-within glow. Instant bronzed complexion.
KVD Beauty Modcon Liquid-Gel Contour
Before I say anything else, this is one of the more expensive contour products on this list. But for $26, you get 17 mL of product, which goes a longer way than the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand.
The contour product comes with a large applicator that makes applying the product easy, especially around fine areas such as the chin and nose. The KVD Beauty Contour has a gel formula, so it’s very easy to use. There are eight shades to choose from, more than the Hollywood Contour Wand. There’s a shade for you, no matter your skin tone or your undertone. Reading reviews, customers are raving about how natural this contour looks. The contour sets well, so it lasts all day.
A lightweight, transfer-resistant liquid-gel contour that instantly adds realistic depth + dimension to your face. This is Modern Contour.
The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand: Is it Worth It?
The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand offers an easy way to get sculpted cheeks. The applicator is cushiony, so it feels comfortable on your skin. I would recommend the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Complexion Brush for a smooth and flawless!
The product is easy to use — squeeze the applicator and apply it directly to your cheeks to create the illusion of striking cheekbones. The product is blendable and is available in two colors: light-to-medium and medium-to-deep (the second color is sold out on the Charlotte Tilbury website at the time of writing). The results are very natural-looking.
But there are some downsides to this product. One, customers complained about the high price tag of $40. The tube is only 12 mL, which is equivalent to 0.4 ounces. You can take this contour wand on a plane and keep it in your purse. That’s how small it is.Ā Not only that, but customers complained that the tube isn’t even completely full!
This is the perfect lightweight, blendable, buildable formula to create a well-contoured face.
Tips When Choosing and Applying A Charlotte Tilbury Alternative
You can find Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand alternatives so you can save money on a product of equal quality. However, there are some tips when selecting the best alternative. You’ll also want to know how to contour before shopping for a product.
Selecting the Best Alternative
The biggest tip I have to offer when selecting the right alternative is to choose your color wisely. Your contour shade should be two shades darker than your skin color. This is to ensure that the product replicates the natural shadows of your skin while also looking natural. Charlotte Tilbury only offers two shade options, but some of the alternatives I’m recommending offer more color options.
Concealer vs. Contour Products
Some of the products I’m recommending are concealers rather than contour products. Which one should you choose? I prefer contouring with concealer or foundation. The final result is more natural-looking, and many professional makeup artists use concealer to contour.
To choose the right concealer shades, use a concealer that’s two shades darker and one shade lighter for the highlight. Or, if you’re pale like me, just use your normal concealer as the highlight. Use contour products if you like diversity. There are contour products and bronzers in various colors and formulas, such as liquid and cream. You can also find contour products in powder and stick formulas.
How to Contour
Everyone has a different technique. What I do is I take my contour product and form a line from the center of my cheek and move upward. The aligns with the top of my earlobe. I then take my highlight concealer and draw lines, one above and one below the contour. I take a blending brush or my foundation brush and blend everything. I finish with powder.
There are different ways to contour your face shape. I have a round shape face, so according to the diagram that I attached, I should also be applying the contour product to the sides of my forehead and the sides of my chin with a highlighter/concealer in the middle to give me a more defined shape. I do this sometimes, but I’m often too lazy to do all of that. Here are some videos on how to contour:Ā
FAQs
Question: Is the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand discontinued?
Answer: There was a time when it was discontinued, but it’s back in stock.
Question: I want to buy the Hollywood Contour Wand. Is it worth the price?
Answer: There are aspects I don’t like about the Hollywood Contour Wand. The price aside, I don’t like how the packaging is so small. Still, the product is worth it. It’s easy to apply and blends well. The finish is natural yet radiant, not shimmery at all.
Question:Does the Hollywood Contour Wand last all day?
Answer: I wouldn’t say it lasts all day, but it lasts for several hours.
Best Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand Alternatives: Bottom Line
The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand has received a lot of hype. However, that high price tag makes some makeup enthusiasts hesitant about buying this product.
Out of all of these alternatives, I recommend the Maybelline concealer. The concealer has a sponge applicator so you can create a contouring effect with ease. I don’t like this product as a concealer, but it is creamy, blendable, and natural-looking. Because of this, I see this concealer working better as a contour. This concealer has multiple color options, whereas the Hollywood Contour Wand only has two shades.
To use, twist up the concealer from the bottom until the product comes up at the top. Apply the contour to your preference and blend. I also suggest reading some of my other alternative recommendations to find the contour that’s perfect for you!
